Coleus forskohlii is a perennial member of the mint (Lamiaceae) family and grows in the subtropical temperate climates of India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. Plant height is approximately 1-2 feet. The rootstock is typically golden brown, thick, fibrous, and radially spreading. roots are harvested in the fall, when forskolin is at its most concentrated and the color is the brightest.

Phytoconstituents
The diterpene forskolin, derived from the root of the plant, is the primary constituent in Coleus forskohlii. It was discovered by Western scientists in 1974 and was initially referred to as coleonol. Since that time, as other coleonols and diterpenoids have been identified, the name was changed to forskolin.

Mechanisms of Action
Forskolin's primary mode of action is to increase cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cAMP mediated functions, via activation of the enzyme adenylate cyclase. Forskolin has been shown to increase cAMP formation in all eukaryotic cells except sperm, without hormonal activation of adenylate cyclase.

Curcumin is a natural plant derivative of herbaceous. Curcuma longa that is commonly known as Turmeric. Mucuna Pruriens contains L-Dopa. The seeds are high in protein, carbohydrates, lipids, fiber, and minerals content. They are also rich in novel alkaloids, saponins, and sterols. The seeds of all mucuna species contain a high concentration of L-dopa; typically in 7-10% concentration. The stinging hairs of the seed pods contain the phytochemical mucunain, which is responsible for causing skin irritation and itch.

General Description 
Tulasi is fragrant bushy perennial herb growing upto 1.5 m in height with profusions of white blooms and slightly purple tinted foliage. Leaves and flowering tops are used for extracting essential oil. Oil of Tulasi or Ocimum sanctum has revealed the presence of five fatty acids (stearic,palmitic, oleic, linoleic andlinolenic acids). It is a good source of beta carotene, calcium, vitamin C and it also contains volatile substances. 

Phytoconstituents
The leaves contain ursolic acid and n-triacontanol.The leaves also contain an essential oil, which contains eugenol, eugenal, carvacrol, methylchavicol, limatrol and caryophylline. The seeds contain oil composed of fatty acids and sitosterol. The roots contain sitosterol and three triterpenes A, B, and C.
